Polwarth Fingering / Colours
- Description
- Notes
*Colourways often look very different on different yarn bases. Feel free to contact us with a query.
This listing is for a single skein of Polwarth Fingering. Please choose colourway from the drop down menu and select the number of skeins you require.
Approx 100g – 100% superwash Polwarth wool
400m (440yds) per 100g – fingering weight
Polwarth is a breed that comprises 25% Lincoln and 75% Merino. It rivals Merino in softness, though with the addition of Lincoln, this wool has a longer staple, more lustre and is stronger. It can be worn right next to the skin.
20% VAT will be charged on parcels being sent within the UK, EU VAT charged at your country's rate
As with other hand dyed yarns, we would recommend alternating skeins every two rows or so.
We care deeply about the environment and we're aware of the effects that chemicals can have on it, so we make every effort to exhaust all dyes in the dyebath so that no nasties go down the plughole. It is not always possible to exhaust *all* the dye, all the time, especially with certain dyeing techniques, so if you are intending on using your yarn for colourwork or with paler colours it pays to give it a wash first, just to be sure.
We try to ensure all colours look true on our monitor but they can vary substantially. If you’re unsure about a particular colourway please get in touch!
